Did you know every homeowner is sent a postcard in the mail every year in June and must sign stating they live in the home otherwise the property taxes are increased? What if the card is lost in the mail? They don’t know you occupy the home. You must notify them every year in order for them to give you the correct tax cap.
If your tax cap is not 3% for your primary residence, call the Assessor’s Office at (702) 455-3882. They can email you a form to print and sign to verify your primary residence and correct your tax cap. Don’t forget to check on this every year!
Lastly, don’t forget to keep your property insured at all times. Contact your local insurance agent for more details.
